UFC fighter shows little class in victory

Humility and the UFC don’t often get used together and that certainly won’t be happening here.

Michael Johnson delivered a stunning right hook to the head of Dustin Poirier in their weekend fight in Texas. That’s where it all started.

Despite it seeming blatantly obvious that Poirier wasn’t going to get back up, Johnson unloaded with another barrage of blows.

The referee then stepped in, only for Johnson to appear to lash out at Poirier with his leg.

But Johnson, clearly fuelled by the bad blood that had gone down with his rival in the lead up to the fight, wasn’t finished there.

With his battered opponent receiving medical attention, Johnson comes back and stands over Poirier in a provocative manner.

To his credit, Johnson did later issue a mea culpa.

“I had to apologise to Dustin afterwards for what I did. It was an emotional week,” Johnson said.
