Novak Djokovic breaks down during post-match speech after loss to Carlos Alcaraz
Wimbledon runner-up Novak Djokovic broke down in tears post-match after his tough five-set defeat to Carlos Alcaraz.
The 36-year-old went into the final, searching for his 24th grand slam singles title, but couldn't stop the classy Alcaraz from finishing ahead of him with a final scoreline of 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
Upon being asked for a final word on his family post-match, Djokovic couldn't hold back his emotions when speaking about son Stefan.

"It's nice to see my son still there, still smiling," he said before crying.
"I love you. Thank you for supporting me and I will give you a big hug and we can all love each other."

Before breaking down, Djokovic gave plenty of praise towards Alcaraz after the 20-year-old staged a phenomenal fight back after his first set loss.
"I have to start obviously with praises to Carlos and to his team. Amazing, what a quality end to the match when you had to serve it out," he said.
"You came out with some big serves and big plays so you deserve it, absolutely.
"I thought I'd have trouble with you only on clay and hard court... but now it's a different story from this year obviously. Congrats. Amazing way to adapt to the surface."
After complimenting his opponent, Djokovic then spoke of how "grateful" he is in a career that's included a record amount of grand slam victories.
"As for me, obviously, you know, you never like to lose matches like this. But, you know, I guess when all the emotions are settled I have to still be very grateful because I've won many, many tight and close matches in the past here," he said.
"To name a few: 2019 against Roger (Federer) in that finals as well I was a match point down, so you know, maybe I should have lost a couple of finals that I won, so I think this is even stevens."
