Nick Kyrgios to headline Brisbane International ahead of Australian Open return
Nick Kyrgios will make his return to competitive tennis at the Brisbane International, the Australian tennis player confirmed.
The 29-year-old has played one competitive match in more than two years, with serious wrist and knee injuries hampering his progress since the 2022 US Open quarter-finals.
That year was the most successful in Kyrgios' career, having qualified for the Wimbledon final before going down in four sets to Novak Djokovic.

Kyrgios pulled out of the Australian Open in 2023 due to a knee injury that required surgery, before a foot issue forced him to sit out Roland-Garros.

The last Tour match he played was a grass court match in Stuttgart in 2023.
The former world No.13 will headline the Brisbane International, which gets underway on December 29, in preparation for the 2025 Australian Open.
Ahead of the Australian summer of tennis, Kyrgios will also play in the World Tennis League exhibition event in Abu Dhabi.
The last Tour match he played was a grass court match in Stuttgart.

"Honestly, this is probably the best I've felt in two years," he told 9News this week.
"I played that amazing year in 2022. Then at the finals in Wimbledon and US Open, that's when I started feeling some issues in my wrist. I had that wrist reconstruction and now I'm feeling amazing.
"It was a 15 miracle per cent chance that I was going to get back to playing at this level and here we are.
"To get back out there in front of the home fans is going to be sick."
