Federer wows crowd with unbelievable catch

Roger Federer has again delved into his bag of tricks to stun the crowd at the Swiss Indoors in Basel.

But this time he didn’t even have to play a shot.

The world No.3 was playing Russian Mikhail Kukushkin when he produced arguably the highlight of the match in the second game of the second set.

Serving at 0-15, Federer clipped the top of the net forcing the world No.64 to just bunt the ball back at the Swiss maestro.

But instead of catching it or letting it fly through to a ball person, Federer stuck out his racquet and, showing the touch and control of 17-grand slam champion, effortlessly pulled the ball out of the air.

And with the applauding crowd still coming to grips with the unbelievable piece of skill, Federer nonchalantly fired the same ball down for an unplayable return on the replay first serve.

Federer eventually won the match 6-1, 6-2 to move through to the second round where he'll meet German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
