Alex de Minaur faces former world No.3 in horror start as full Australian Open draw revealed

Australia's top hope Alex de Minaur has drawn a tricky round one opponent in big-hitting Canadian Milos Raonic.

De Minaur is the 10th seed in the men's Australian Open draw, but Raonic is a former world No.3 and is one of the best servers on tour.

The full Australian Open round one draw was revealed in Melbourne on Thursday.

Five Aussies will contest the women's draw, while Australia has 13 in the men's tournament. Further Australians may be added to the draw via qualifying.

Aside from the Aussie contingent, the first round of the Australian Open promises plenty of blockbuster matches.

In the men's draw, Dominic Thiem faces Felix Auger-Aliassime, while Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on Matteo Berrettini.

World No.1 and defending men's champion Novak Djokovic will take on a qualifier, while No.2 seed Carlos Alcaraz faces Richard Gasquet.

American upstart and excitement machine Ben Shelton goes up against Spanish veteran Roberto Bautista Agut.

Australia's only woman who is not a wildcard, Ajla Tomljanovic, takes on world No.40 Petra Martic.
