Skipper Smith's luck eventually runs out

Steve Smith’s luck eventually ran out but boy did he ride it.

The Australian skipper eventually fell to the bowling of Riaz after a wonderful length ball, outside off stump caught his bat’s edge and sailed through to Pakistan wicketkeeper Ahmed.

Smith had been living dangerously all day after posting a dominant century yesterday.

Earlier leg spinner Yasir Shah thought he had the Aussie skipper for all money but it wasn’t to be.

Smith charged down the wicket and mistimed his shot, which spiralled in the air towards Mohammad Amir at long on.

But the paceman seemed to flinch and lose focus and stuttered as he attempted to catch the ball, dropping it as a result.

The paceman should've easily taken the catch considering he earns a living playing the game.

The tourists were happy though when they eventually snared Smith’s wicket after he escaped dismissal via another dropped catch earlier.
