Skier hits the slopes, minus snow

Forget snow-covered slopes, French skier Candide Thovex has shown he can tackle any terrain in style.

Strapped into his trusty slalom skis, Thovex hit the slopes of the Haute-Savoie region in south-eastern France to deliver a spectacular downhill sequence for a new car ad – without a snowflake in sight.

Shot during spring, the footage shows the X Games triple gold medallist race down the mountain through fields, roads and forests, all the while slaloming and jumping as if he was tackling a snow-covered slope.

At one point, he leaps across a road, flying high over the top of a tractor driver, while at another section he speeds through a tunnel, along a road with sparks flying off his skis.

The sequence eventually ends with Thovex blasting into the air before landing in the back of a station wagon.

Now, whether that trick gives away the fact the whole run Is all smoke and mirrors with some clever editing or just the conclusion, we can't be certain.

But either way it's engrossing footage.
