Ben Simmons possibly dating US pop sensation Tinashe

The unofficial slogan for the Philadelphia 76ers in their rise to prominence has been ‘Trust the Process’ and the process may have just led Ben Simmons to his first celebrity relationship.

Rumours have been swirling on the web about Simmons and 25-year-old US singer Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe possibly seeing each other, and the 76ers young star’s social media activity hasn’t done much to quash the gossip.

The Kentucky-native singer shared a bedroom Instagram shot with the caption “Where’s bae,” and the Australian rookie replied, “Charlotte.”

No prizes for guessing where the 76ers were, as all of this took place prior to the Sixers’ road matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.

Prior to Tinashe’s bedroom snap, the two had been constantly keeping in touch via social media, either liking or commenting on each other’s posts frequently.

In February, Tinashe appeared on a Philadelphia radio station Boom 103.9 FM and appeared star struck when talking about Simmons as her favourite player on the Sixers.

So just who is Simmons’ new celeb buddy? Tinashe, who has a Zimbabwean father and a mother of Danish, Norweigian, Irish and Spanish descent, appeared in several children’s TV shows and movies in the early 2000s including Call Me Claus and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

However, it was after her hit single 2 On, which went platinum in both Australia and the United States, that Tinashe’s star really took off.
