Alarming Wallabies fallout as Eddie Jones marooned following historic Rugby World Cup failure
Eddie Jones has given another qualified commitment to his Wallabies coaching future as his Rugby World Cup support staff continues to disband in the wake of the historic French flop.
In a wide ranging interview with the Sydney Morning Herald's Peter FitzSimons, Jones was again asked whether he would honour his contract through to the home World Cup in 2027.
"If my commitment is matched by Rugby Australia's commitment. I cannot be clearer – if we want to win, things must change. Right now, if you're any good at rugby, you can get a scholarship at a private school, then you can play for a Super Rugby team and not perform and get picked for Australia," Jones replied.

"And that's the sort of cattle we're dealing with, right? That doesn't produce World Cup winners."
As expected, Jones' eclectic "smash and grab" crew of assistant coaches are now going their separate ways.
Attack coach Jason Ryles will rejoin the the Melbourne Storm, lineout coach Dan Palmer is off to the Leicester Tigers and maul consultant Pierre-Henry Broncan elected to remain in his native France.

Forwards coordinator Neal Hatley is keen to continue with the Wallabies but his contract expires at the end of November.
A Wallabies source said defence coach Brett Hodgson is contracted through until next year but team manager Chris Webb is moving on.
The well regarded Webb also worked with predecessor Dave Rennie.

Having finished his World Rugby commitments in France, RA chief executive Phil Waugh will return to head office in Sydney next week.
RA has advertised for a 'head of national high performance programs' in what is a critical piece of the jigsaw puzzle.
An independent review into Australia's World Cup campaign will kick off next month.
The Wallabies failed to reach the quarter-finals for the first time ever.
"I'm so pissed off with the situation now," Jones told FitzSimons.
"I'm really pissed off with what has happened. Look, I take responsibility for the bad results. But I don't take responsibility for 20 years of decline of Australian rugby. And that's what's trying to be pinned on me: 20 years of decline, that I'm an unsavoury character, all these sorts of things, and anyone that knows me knows that's not the truth."
