The NSW Country Eagles have scored one of the greatest tries in the history of the National Rugby Championship after a spectacular through-the-legs assist capped off a free-flowing move.

Deep in their own territory at the start of the second half against the North Harbour Rays, the Eagles decided to chance their hand and launch a counter attack.

And the decision proved to be the right one when outside centre Ed Stubbs broke through the first line of defence and raced up-field.

However, the move looked to have broken down when a covering tackle forced the ball loose with the try-line in sight.

But fullback Andrew Kellaway produced the highlight of the move, and probably the game, when he dived on the ball and flicked it through his legs to the waiting Stubbs as he stumbled across the sideline.

The incredible piece of improvisation and the stunning try helped the Eagles to a 50-24 victory.
