Rugby player trips up on crater-like divot
After making a mistake athletes are often left wishing for a hole to crawl into.
But for Hurricanes winger Julian Savea it was the opposite case after being tripped up by a crater-like divot to gift the Rebels a try during their Super Rugby clash.
With the soft AAMI Stadium turf torn to shreds by the massive packs during scrums, the field resembled the moonscape in in various places with huge chunks of grass left uprooted during the clash on Friday.
And unfortunately for Savea the damage proved particularly costly when he turned to chase a Rebels grubber kick close to his line, only to stumble on one of the monster divots and fall over.
The trip up allowed Rebels winger Dom Shipperley to glide past the All Blacks flyer and pounce on the ball for a simple five pointer.
The 10th minute try gave the Rebels an early lead but the Hurricanes had the last laugh, blowing the Melbourne side away 38-13.
