Queensland are out to avenge last year's agonising loss to NSW in the inaugural Super W final after beating the Brumbies 39-10 in their preliminary final.

The Queensland women powered away in the second half after leading by 12-7 at the break at Ballymore on Sunday.

It sets up a tantalising final at Sydney's Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, with Queensland desperate to turn the tables after losing 15-12 to NSW in last year's decider after Waratahs captain Ash Hewson kicked a penalty in golden-point extra time.

They also lost by the same score to unbeaten NSW in their round-robin clash three weeks ago.

Queensland captain Kiri Lingman admitted the chance to gain revenge over NSW had been in the back of players' minds all season.

"Now to get another chance at it, we are really excited," Lingman said.

"We weren't happy with our other games this year, not really stringing 80 minutes together, but we did today."

Queensland ran in six tries against the Brumbies who lost star forward Tayla Stanford to injury when she was stretchered from the field midway through the first half.
