Morahan to leave Western Force for Bristol

Wallabies back Luke Morahan will leave Western Force to join English rugby strugglers Bristol at the end of the Super Rugby season.

Morahan, who has three Test caps, will leave the Force after three seasons.

He crossed from Queensland at the end of 2013 after being a part of the Reds' 2011 championship squad, making his Australian debut the following year.

The 26-year-old, who has a background in rugby sevens and won a Commonwealth Games silver medal in 2010, also started at fullback in Australia's spring tour match against France late last year.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to play in England but also to be a part of the ambitious journey that Bristol rugby is on," Morahan told the club's website.

Bristol, who are ranked last in English Premiership standings, expect Morahan to offer Bristol options at fullback, wing and centre.

"He has got a lot of raw pace and versatility and can play across the backline," said Bristol head coach Mark Tainton.
