Hansen the hero as Ireland romp to big win over Australia
Fullback Mack Hansen scored a hat-trick of tries in the first half to set Ireland on their way to a convincing 46-19 victory over beleaguered Australia in their Autumn international.
It was a second win for Ireland in the November series after last week's triumph over Japan, while the Wallabies have now lost three in a row after being beaten by England and Italy.
The 27-year-old Hansen, who moved from Australia where he played for the ACT Brumbies to play for Ireland for whom he qualifies through his Cork-born mother, crossed the line three times in the opening 28 minutes at a rainy Dublin Arena.

Captain Caelen Doris, Ryan Baird and Robbie Henshaw scored Ireland's other tries while Sam Prendergast kicked a drop goal and two conversions, and his replacement Jack Crowley added a penalty and three conversions.
Australia scored two first-half tries through Len Ikitau and Fraser McReight and a late consolation from Billy Pollard. James O'Connor kicked two conversions.
Ireland burst into a sixth-minute lead as Hansen darted between the posts at the end of a quick tap that caught the Wallabies napping.
The second try five minutes later was almost a carbon copy of the first, with Stuart McCloskey bringing Ireland to within a metre out with a hard carry off the scrum, before a wide pass to Robbie Henshaw was pulled back for Prendergast to send Hansen straight through a gap under the posts.
Australia's first try came in the 17th minute off a lineout maul, with Ikitau powering over, but Hansen, playing at fullback for Ireland for the first time, completed his hat-trick after Prendergast's crossfield kick found Tommy O'Brien, and although he was tackled, the ball spilt for Hansen to burst over'
Australia, however, reduced the score to 19-14 on the stroke of halftime when McReight scored at the end of multiple phases with a pick and go.
The opening 15 minutes of the second half proved attritional and without any more score until Prendergast put over a drop kick to extend the home side's lead to eight points.
Prendergast's replacement, Jack Crowley, extended the lead with a penalty from close-in as Ireland dominated territory amid a litany of Wallaby errors.
Doris scored at the end of sustained home pressure as Ireland breached the 30-point mark against Australia for the first in the 39 tests between the two countries.
A yellow card to Nick Frost initially made no different as Pollard scored for Australia but Ireland made full use of the numerical advantage as Baird and Henshaw scored tries in the last three minutes.
Hansen awarded man of the match award
Ireland fullback Mack Hansen has been awarded the man of the match award after his first half hat-trick.
"I know there's a lot of chat about being born in Australia but this feels like home for me," Hansen says, rubbing even more salt into the wounds of Wallabies fans.
"That's the pleasure of playing in this team. I literally just had to grab the ball and run over the line because everyone else is doing their job for me, so it makes it easier for me."
It was Hansen's first Test start in the No.15 jersey and his first hat-trick as well.
"He's now a top-flight international player," Justin Harrison says on Stan Sport.
FULLTIME: Ireland 46, Australia 19
Ireland have completed a fine team performance as centre Robbie Henshaw cruises over to score another try in the left corner.
The Wallabies have been thumped 46-19 on the back of Mack Hansen's hat-trick.
Ouch. That's now three straight losses for Joe Schmidt's side as they now prepare to finish their season against France in Paris next weekend.

'It's now a rout'
Ireland aren't done yet as Bundee Aki gets his team on the front foot and Ryan Baird then crashes over for another try.
The hosts now lead 39-19 after 78 minutes.
"It's now a rout," Sean Maloney says on Stan Sport.
Pollard barges over for consolation try
Reserve Wallabies hooker Billy Pollard barges over for a consolation try.
Tane Edmed is now on the park and he misses the sideline conversion.
Ireland lead 32-19 after 74 minutes.
Frost carded for foul play
It gets even worse for Australia as lock Nick Frost is yellow carded for foul play.
The officials decide he is guilty of a high shot and the Wallabies will finish the game with just 14 men.
Doris ends Wallabies hopes
Australia are destined for their third straight loss as Ireland captain Caelan Doris cruises over for a match-sealing try.
Ireland now lead 32-14 after 70 minutes.
Crowley gets in on the act
Jack Crowley gets in on the act as Ireland's reserve No.10 slots a penalty from right in front.
This is getting difficult now for Australia as the hosts now lead 25-14 after 62 minutes.
They can't afford to keep giving away penalties.
The Wallabies lineout has also been a mess.
Ireland try scrubbed out for knock-on
Ireland have had Tommy O'Brien's try scrubbed out by the TMO for a knock-on.
The crowd boo but it's clearly the right call.
Both teams are emptying their benches now and Zane Nonggorr is packing down in place of Allan Alaalatoa in Australia's 22.
