'Actually good': Rugby, NRL stars form rap group Dreamyourz

But even a harsh marker like Nic White admits Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii's debut single is a reasonable effort for a footy player.

Wallabies star Suaalii is one fifth of the fledgling rap group Dreamyourz, along with his former Sydney Roosters teammates Joseph Manu, Spencer Leniu, Sitili Tupouniua and Siua Wong.

The crew have released their debut album, OFF-SZN, headlined by their first feature track, We Rock The Party.

"It's just a bit of fun but Joey, he's actually good," Suaalii told Stan Sport's Rugby Heaven.

"I'm not that good but we just use it as a thing to bond with each other off the field. Usually we go to Joey Manu's house and just spend time with him and put a couple of beats on and stuff.

"Obviously he's in Japan now, but it's just a thing that we enjoy besides rugby."

We Rock The Party got a hammering during Australia's tour of the United Kingdom as Suaalii got his first taste of professional rugby.

"I can tell you that got played every gym session – he was sick of it," Wallabies teammate White said recently.

Manu's move to Japan has slowed Dreamyourz's momentum a little and Suaalii's progress has been interrupted by an annoying toe injury.

The issue will again keep Suaalii out of Saturday's Super Rugby Pacific clash between the NSW Waratahs and ACT Brumbies in Sydney but he is confident of a return against the Hurricanes in Wellington on March 28.

"Obviously getting injured wasn't part of the plan but you've got to take the positives from it," Suaalii said.

"Being able to go in the coaches box and see it from a coaching perspective, the game of rugby, it's great.

"I feel like it's helping my learning much faster. I've been enjoying that aspect of the game. I'm very, very confident I'll be back next week."

Suaalii was man of the match in his Test debut against England so it's little wonder that he swatted away concerns about the time on the sideline affecting his preparation for the British and Irish Lions.

"No, not one bit," the 21-year-old replied.

"I'm pretty confident in my ability to play the game of rugby and honestly... this period I've just been studying the game."

That included an opportunity to grill All Blacks legend Dan Carter during a trip to the Australian F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne.

"Everyone knows Dan Carter, so I was pretty stoked to meet him at the start," Suaalii said.

"I started talking about rugby, and just picking his brain off the field to see what he does to prepare and how he can attack training and different things. He's a very knowledgeable guy and a very humble guy."

The Waratahs are stinging from their first loss of the season and are desperate to make amends against the Brumbies.

"Everyone's ready for this game. I think they've (Brumbies) put out a social media video saying they've beaten us 13 times in a row.

"We see that."
