A Samoan rugby player has made worldwide headlines after producing one of sport's greatest injury fakes.

The footballer was competing in a match between Vaiala and Vailele when one of his rivals took a swipe at him at a stoppage.Though there was only the slightest of contact - and from an open hand - he decided to reel backwards and onto the ground as if he'd been punched in the face.So bad was the display that the crowd can be heard erupting in laughter, while even the referee gives him a pat on the back as if to say "nice try!".Footage of the incident is trending on sports sites around the globe and drawing immediate comparisons with the antics often seen from soccer players.Many are arguing that this may just be the best fake ever seen in sport.
