Rollerblader hits the beaten track

When it comes to rollerblading, smooth going offroad has traditionally been a no go zone.

But pro skater Dustin Werbeski has hit the beaten tracks of Canada's wilderness to deliver a stunning video set to revolutionise the sport.

With his blades laced on Wrebeski blazed through the pristine Bobsled trail, located on Fromme Mountain, on Vancouver's North Shore, to deliver some stunning footage.

In the video, no terrain is too tough to handle as his speeds down dirt sections around berms and over jumps.

At one stage he even tackles a wooded section of track and somehow avoids getting caught in the gaps between each slat.

Wrebeski said he surprised himself by successfully navigating the trail.  

"It's always been a dream, just a concept. I didn't know if it was even possible, but obviously it is," Werbeski said of the attempt.

And the wildnerness session has only whetted his appetite for more offroad action.

"The possibilities are endless," he said. "I've only touched a couple trails.

"I don't know what the mountain bikers have built or what I personally will build, or what this off-road rollerblading sport will become. But we'll only see."
