Police officer sacked from Games duty

A Queensland police officer has been banished from the Commonwealth Games after an off-duty incident at a Surfers Paradise nightclub.

Queensland Police Service confirmed on Tuesday they were aware of an "incident" involving the officer on Monday night.

While the matter is not criminal in nature, the officer has been returned to Brisbane and the matter has been referred to the Ethical Standards Command for investigation.
