'See you soon': Banned Olympic medallist's risqué post trumpets new Victoria's Secret gig
Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman is turning her attention to the Victoria's Secret runway as she looks to start a new life away from the sport amid a 20-month ban for missed drug tests.
Newman, who won Olympic bronze at Paris 2024, was handed the ban earlier this month after she recorded three whereabouts failures over the span of 12 months, according to anti-doping officials.
Newman failed to show at one test in February 2025 and another two in August, with her reasoning for missing her third doping examination being due to her participation in "filming a television game show."

The 31-year-old is now looking to take her career in a different direction, having not competed in any events since a pair of Diamond League meets in May last year.

In a post on Instagram, Newman revealed she had received an invitation to a casting call to participate in this year's Victoria Secret fashion show.
Wearing a bright pink bikini, Newman wrote: "See you soon @victoriassecret!"
An image of her invitation to the casting call was also included in the post.
Newman later posted a video showcasing her training ahead of the casting call, performing a number of backflips inside an indoor gym alongside former UCLA gymnast Gracie Kramer.
"Prepping for @victoriassecret like how I would prep for the Olympics," Newman said.
"Adding something in that scares you weekly."
Newman has kept her 715,000 followers up to date with her journey to becoming a Victoria's Secret model, declaring she is "here to take modelling and acting serious".
She has also posted a number of videos practising her walk for the runway after receiving a call back to participate in the Victoria's Secret fashion show.
Newman would not be the first athlete to feature in a fashion show for Victoria's Secret, with WNBA star Angel Reese and Olympic gold medallist Suni Lee also featuring for the brand last year.
The pair made history as the first active professional athletes to hit the runway for the lingerie company.
