Players out on their feet after unbelievable rally

Exhausted table tennis players were left flat on their backs after battling it out in a remarkable rally at the Belgium Open.

Hungarian duo Nandor Ecseki and Adam Szudi were leading Koreans Cho Eonrae and Kim Donghyun in the final game when the crowd witnessed a contender for rally of the tournament.

Locked at 2-2 games and with the Hungarians serving with a 5-3 lead, the point ebbed and flowed from side to side as both pairings tried to gain the upper hand.

Starting with a number of ferocious forehands and backhands, both teams tried to out-muscle the other until the green-clad Hungarians changed tack and tried the more subtle approach.

But the Koreans were not be fooled and the skirmish quickly again turned into an all-out power attack.

However, the Hungarians proved too strong – the final shot a diving forehand cross-table winner.

The effort of both sets of players was clearly evident as players from both sides were left lying on the floor, needing a moment of rest before resuming play.

The point proved to be the breaking of the Koreans with Ecseki and Szudi claiming a 4-11, 8-11, 11-14, 11-6, 6-11 victory.
