Pearson improving as world indoors loom

World and Olympic 100m hurdles champion Sally Pearson is happy with her continued improvement in the leadup to the world indoors and the Commonwealth Games.

Pearson clocked 12.68 seconds in her heat and 12.67 in the final at the Queensland track and field championships on Sunday - the latter effort coming with the aid of an illegal tailwind.

"I ran quite well today given the wind conditions," tweeted Pearson.

"In my heat I ran 12.68 with a -1.3 and a 12.67 with a +2.7.

"Very swirly and blustering winds today but happy my times are coming down."

Pearson and rising pole vault star Kurtis Marschall will be part of a small Australian team at the world indoors in Birmingham in early March.

The 31-year-old will then shift all her attention towards securing a third straight Commonwealth title on home soil on the Gold Coast in April.

Pearson's next competitive hitout will be at the Australian championships at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast in mid-February.
