WHERE ARE THE REST OF AUSTRALIA'S GOLD MEDALS?

SAILING

Several sailors are well placed with medal races looming early in the week.

Tom Burton will sail for gold in the Laser on Monday but needs to finish five places ahead of Croatia's fleet leader Tonci Stipanovic.

Cousins Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin are in fourth place in the Nacra 17 going into Tuesday's medal race.

Mat Belcher and Will Ryan are still in second place in the 470 with three races to go.

CANOEING

The men's K4 crew. After impressive results in the world cup season, Ken Wallace, Jacob Clear, Riley Fitzsimmons and Jordan Wood are a good chance of defending the gold medal won in London.

CYCLING

Glenn O'Shea and Annette Edmondson are an outside chance of gold in the multi-event omnium at the velodrome. BMX rider Caroline Buchanan is eager to make amends for her failure in London where she finished fifth after going into the final a firm favourite and fastest qualifier.

ATHLETICS

Jared Tallent was belatedly awarded his London gold in the 50km walk nearly four years late after Russian Sergey Kirdyapkin was revealed as a drug cheat. He's a chance to actually collect his medal on the day this time.

TEAM SPORTS

Men's hockey crashed out in the quarters and the women are unlikely to win gold. While the basketballers are in great form, they still have to get past the US for gold. The women's water polo team are an outside chance for gold.
