WADA removes Kenya from non-compliant list

Kenya has been removed from the World Anti-Doping Agency's list of "non-compliant" countries, three months after WADA described the nation's anti-doping regulations as "a complete mess."

WADA said in a statement late on Thursday that the new anti-doping legislation introduced by Kenya's parliament is "now deemed to be in line" with the 2015 World Anti-Doping code.

At least 40 Kenyan track and field athletes have failed doping tests and been banned since the 2012 Olympics in London. Four senior officials at the Kenyan track federation, including the top two, have been suspended by the IAAF - track and field's international governing body - after being accused of trying to corrupt the anti-doping process.

In May, Kenya's entire drug-testing program was declared non-compliant because of problems with how it was run.
