Australia has finished third in the 4x100m mixed medley relay as the United States claimed a gold medal in a frantic finish against China, breaking a world record.
The team of Mollie O'Callaghan, Kaylee McKeown, Josh Yong and Matt Temple produced a strong showing to add another medal to the tally for the green and gold.
A slow start from the backstroke leg had the Aussies in real danger as the French crowd erupted for new superstar Leon Marchand in the breaststroke leg.

The finish of the mixed 4x100m medley relay in Paris. Nine
Despite coming into the event as defending champions, Great Britain finished seventh.
"Congratulations toe our Aussie team - they were bronze in Tokyo and bronze here in Pari," Giaan Rooney said on the Nine broadcast.
"It is an incredibly exciting relay just given the changeover, the lead that changes throughout the race depending where you swim your men and women.
"It goes to show how much a team can change in three years since Tokyo as well. As we mentioned, team Great Britan were world record holders and defending champions going into that - they finished in seventh position in that.
"Interesting in the final as to why they didn't swim Adam Peaty in that breaststroke leg ... he swum the heat this morning."
