'I thought Mum was going to drown': Fox family's wild immediate reactions to Noemie's incredible gold
The Fox family's reaction to Noemie winning gold in the women's kayak cross was so ecstatic that the newly crowned Olympic champion worried her mum was going to drown.
After Fox crossed the finish line to make it three golds from as many attempts for the sisters in Paris, older sibling Jess and mother Myriam jumped into the water to hug Noemie – causing at least a little alarm.
"I thought Mum was going to drown," Noemie told Nine afterwards.

Thankfully everyone made it back to dry land safely, where Jess couldn't even recall what was said in the water.
"I don't know, I was just screaming," she said.
"We were both screaming. She was like, 'what is going on? What the hell?'"
The elation spread all the way up to the commentary box, where father Richard Fox was calling the action.

After being behind the microphone with such composure for all three of Jess's gold medals, Noemie's success brought out a rare burst of unguarded emotion from the usually measured Richard.
"Oh my god, oh my goodness," he cried, before asking to leave the commentary box to join the celebrations, a request that fellow caller Dave Culbert had no problem with.
"You go down and jump in," he said.
"Go down there, we'll hear your reaction, we'll get it when you go down there.
"But you deserve to go down there."
That reaction, though, wasn't forthcoming before the gold was handed out.
"I'm not sure where Richard is," Culbert said at the start of the medal ceremony.
He reappeared not long after alongside Myriam and Noemie for an interview with Nine – where the 10-time world champion's lack of an Olympic medal was poked fun at.
"I had a moment when I was like, 'OK, I'm going to be like Jess or like Mum (who won bronze in 1996), I'm not going to be like Dad, I'm not going to finish fourth," Noemie said.
Richard was back to his usual unflappable self by then, taking it in his stride.
"We had a thing with Dave Culbert to not mention fourth, because he makes this joke about how I was fourth in Barcelona," he said.
"And I said, 'don't bring up fourth in the final'... I was thinking 'don't come fourth, don't come fourth'.
"But I felt you had it, you had all the things you needed. And I'm just so happy that you could do well."
