Teremoana Teremoana has delivered Australia some much-needed good news from the boxing ring on day three of Paris 2024, brutally knocking out Dmytro Lovchynskyi with a devastating blow to win their super heavyweight bout.

Teremoana dominated the men's +92kg preliminary round clash, knocking down Lovchynskyi early on before he finished him off with about half a minute left in the first round.

He then celebrated in style, performing a celebratory jig after having his hand raised at the end of the bout.

The win was a piece of sweet revenge for Teremoana, who had lost on points in Lovchynskyi last September.

It sets up a blockbuster quarter-final clash for the Australian against the defending gold medallist, Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan, in the early hours of Saturday morning (AEST).

Teremoana's win came just hours after medal hope Harry Garside had suffered a shock loss in his first bout of the Games, knocking him out of medal contention.
