Jamaica qualify for 4x100m relay final

Jamaica's 4x100m relay team has stepped up without Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake to qualify for the final.

Jevaughn Minzie, Asafa Powell, Nickel Ashmeade and Nickel Ashmeade got the job done in 37.94 seconds in the absence of the Bolt, who was resting in readiness for Thursday night's (Wednesday AEST) 200m final.

The United States qualified fastest in 37.65 in front of Japan, who finished in 37.68.
