Diving pool closed: Daley

The diving pool at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre, which has made waves after the water turned green, is reportedly closed for the morning.

British diver Tom Daley tweeted on Friday morning: "Diving pool is closed this morning. Hopefully that means we haven't been diving in anything too bad the last couple of days!"

The pool at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre was green for the two straight days, with Games officials struggling to correct what they say is decreased alkalinity that's causing the change from clear blue to murky green.

Olympic organising committee spokesman Mario Andrada had said tests found the water to be safe.
