Clement wins Olympic 400m hurdles gold

Kerron Clement of the United States has reigned supreme in a tight finish to take out his first individual Olympic gold in the men's 400m hurdles.

The Beijing 2008 silver medallist ran a season-best 47.73 seconds to pip Kenyan Boniface Mucheru Tumuti by five hundredths of a second in Rio and claim America's first medal on the track.

Turkey's Yasmani Copello claimed bronze in 47.92.
