Boyd throguh to pole vault final

Australian record holder Alana Boyd has enjoyed a stress-free progression through to the women's pole vault final at the Rio Olympics.

Boyd cleared 4.45m and 4.55m at the first attempt and then passed at 4.60m, confident she had already done enough.

Among the other qualifiers for the final on Friday (Saturday AEST) were reigning Olympic champ Jenn Suhr from the United States and rising New Zealand star Eliza McCartney.
