Usain Bolt surprises nobody with javelin throw in Rio

Usain Bolt may not be done with the Olympic arena just yet.

The world's fastest man seemingly retired from the arena after flexing his genetic muscle to claim a historic 'triple triple' at the Rio Olympics.

However, the 29-year-old may have put his hand up for the Tokyo 2020 after being caught trying his hand at javelin.

The nine-time Olympic champion was in a jovial mood when he gave the sport his best shot in the early hours inside Rio’s Olympic stadium.

As he walks back to clear his approach, he tries to get the small crowd involved with a big smile is seen on his face.

Bolt then glides into his famous stride, moves down the flight path and launches the javelin into the pre-dawn sky.

So how far did he throw it?

Don’t get yourself into a lather, his throw of 56 metres didn’t get anywhere near Rio champion Thomas Rohler's throw of 90.3 metres.

The throw didn’t even worry the Australian record of 89.02.

Maybe he is done with the Olympics after all!
