NRL: Zane Musgrove charged with domestic violence offences

South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Zane Musgrove has been charged with domestic violence offences following an incident on July 8.

The 22-year-old was charged with common assault, common assault domestic violence related, and intentionally or recklessly destroy/damage of property.

Musgrove was immediately stood down from his duties with the club when they were made aware of the incident but has since been re-instated following his plea of not guilty.

He originally faced court on July 11.

The Rabbitohs stressed they take issues of domestic violence very seriously and are working in tandem with the NRL integrity unit.

“South Sydney Football Club takes allegations of domestic violence very seriously and will take decisive action should the charges be proven. The Rabbitohs will be making no further comment on this issue until after the court proceedings,” the club said in a statement issued on Friday night.

Musgrove is scheduled to appear in court again on September 19.
