The Mole: Tigers legend Benny Elias urges club to get tough with Josh Aloiai

Tigers legend Ben Elias has slammed disgruntled Josh Aloiai, urging the club to knock back the big prop's request for a release and pull him into line.

Elias, a proud one club man who played over 200 games for the Balmain Tigers, is fuming at Aloiai's declaration that he would \

"Who does this bloke think he is?" Elias asked in an interview with Wide World of Sports.

"He's been there five minutes, the club developed him and turned him into a very good player, paid him good money and now he slaps them in the face.

"He's got a contract, he made a commitment, and only a few weeks ago he came out and said how much he loves Tigers and how he supports the coach (Michael Maguire).

"What has happened to change that all of a sudden? I can only assume someone else is prepared to offer him more money and that is very disappointing.

"I'm always a believer that when you sign a contract, you honour the deal.

"It seems some people at the Tigers have forgotten that in the last couple of years.

"We are a proud club and people are treating us like dirt.

"If he's not happy, tough luck. Make him stay and earn the good money he is being paid.

"Sometimes you have to remember where you came from and this is not the way things should be handled.

"The club should dig its heels in and tell him to man up."
