Trbojevic feared brother would face ban

Tom Trbojevic admits his brother Jake is lucky to escape a ban for his dangerous tackle on Melbourne's Jahrome Hughes.

The second rower is free to face Newcastle in their key NRL clash at home on Saturday after attracting only a grade-one charge and dodging suspension with an early guilty plea.

The Trbojevic duo were among the Sea Eagles' best in their shock golden point win over the Storm at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

But second-rower Jake, who made a stunning 69 tackles against the Storm, looked like he would spend a week or two on the sidelines after up-ending the fullback during extra time.

Canberra's Nick Cotric received a three-week ban while Warriors Issac Luke was also graded more seriously by the match review committee for similar tackles.

Tom agreed Jake should buy a lottery ticket.

"Hopefully he wins and gives me some," Trbojevic told NRL.com

"It was a good result - it was a tackle that did go a little bit wrong but it's great we get him back this week.

"He made 60-odd tackles. I don't make that many in my career and he's doing it in one game. That sums up how important he is for us.

"He's super-human in some of the stuff he can do."

Just two points outside the top four Manly host the ninth-placed Knights on Saturday afternoon at Lottoland.
