The Mole: 'Unhelpful distractions' could force Selwyn Cobbo away from battling Broncos
A source close to Selwyn Cobbo believes the superstar utility could benefit getting away from "unhelpful distractions" at the Broncos.
Like a host of big name players, Cobbo becomes a free agent for 2026 on November 1 - this Friday - and has some massive decisions to make.
Cobbo struggled for form and consistency throughout a tough year for the Broncos in 2024, however on his day is one of the league's most lethal weapons.

Some of the bad habits of Broncos players of recent seasons appear to have rubbed off on Cobbo and the youngster looked barely interested in some games as the team crashed out of finals contention.

He scored just six tries in 19 matches - a sharp drop from the past two seasons.
In 2023 he bagged 20 tries in 24 games and in 2022 - his first full season in the league - he scored 15 in 18 games.
"Selwyn is a great kid but there are some unhelpful distractions at the Broncos who haven't helped his game," the source close to Cobbo said under condition of anonymity.
"He is young and quiet and very impressionable and new coach Michael Maguire will have to manage him delicately.
"He is the type of player who may need a change of clubs.
"There would be about 15 clubs interested in him so he is not short of options."
With the Broncos recently upgrading a host of players - notably megastar fullback Reece Walsh - they could have trouble retaining all their big names for 2026.
The NRL contract calendar restarts on Friday and a host of players will be off contract and able to negotiate with rivals.
