EXCLUSIVE: Kyle Flanagan embraces Roosters challenge after 'dream' debut
NRL rising star Kyle Flanagan says he's looking forward to playing for the Roosters for years to come after a "dream" debut in the World Club Challenge.
The Roosters swooped on the play-making prodigy at the back end of last season after an impressive run leading an injury-stricken Cronulla Sharks outfit from the halves saw the likes of Andrew Johns sing the 21-year-old's praises.
On Sunday, Flanagan repaid the club's faith in him with a promising debut in the Roosters' World Club Challenge win over St Helens.
Setting up centre Joseph Manu for two tries on the right edge - the first with a beautiful long ball after running hard at the defensive line - Flanagan was buoyed by his first hit-out and expressed his desire to perform for the Tricolours for years to come.

"To go over there and get the win in the World Club Challenge and play my first game for the Roosters is a dream come true," Flanagan said.
"I just wanted to play simple footy in my first game for the Roosters. So I'm going to build on that and can't wait for round one.
"I've been loving paying with the boys so far and looking forward to play with the Roosters for years to come."
Flanagan was recruited by the back-to-back premiers with the hopes of eventually replacing the hole left by recently retired superstar Cooper Cronk.

While he has huge boots to fill, the young gun will have the help of his predecessor who has taken up a role as halves coach with the Roosters.
But despite the lofty expectations placed upon him, Flanagan said he was only focusing on the Roosters season opener against Penrith.
"It was good (feedback)," Flanagan said of his debut. "I just wanted to play simple footy in my first game for the Roosters. So I'm going to build on that and I'm looking forward to round one against Penrith."
The Roosters kick-off their title defence against the Panthers on March 14, in a season which they'll be on the hunt for an unprecedented third consecutive NRL premiership.
