Maroons playing mind games: Daley

NSW coach Laurie Daley has accused Queensland of playing State of Origin mind games over an injury to Cooper Cronk.

Cronk rolled his ankle at training on Friday and the Maroons say he is in significant doubt for the Origin opener in Sydney on Wednesday.

However Daley isn't buying any of it.

"I didn't know about that until someone told me on the plane coming down," Daley said on Sunday at Sydney Airport as the Blues returned from their Coffs Harbour training base.

"I think that is typical Queensland trying to get the underdog status, trying to play with your mind.

"Cooper will be out there, he is a wonderful player and I don't think there is any need for us to worry about what they are doing."

Queensland say Cronk will be given up until the last minute to prove his fitness.

The Blues had injury dramas of their own on Sunday after Josh Dugan pulled out of game one due to an elbow injury he had carried into camp.

Josh Morris replaces Dugan at right centre for the Blues.

"It is a setback but we are lucky we have a guy like Josh Morris who was with us for a few days early in the camp," Daley said.

"He has been with us for the past four or five years. He is an experienced player.

"He will handle it well."
