NSW forward David Klemmer will play in State of Origin III despite admitting to punching a hole in a wall at Suncorp Stadium.

According to reports, Klemmer initially refused a drug test from ASADA personnel after the Blues series-losing defeat on Wednesday night and took out his frustration on a wall underneath the stadium.

News Corp reports that Klemmer has apologised for the incident to ASADA representatives and stadium officials.

Despite the incident, Klemmer won't be stood down from Origin III next month.

"We've spoken to the player in question and he is very sorry and embarrassed," a NSWRL spokesperson told News Corp.

"The player regrets the incident and he wishes to offer his apologies to everyone concerned, including Suncorp Stadium and ASADA.

"We are disappointed the incident occurred and if necessary he will pay for the damages."
