NSW halfback Mitchell Moses has confirmed he will miss the remainder of the NRL season with a biceps injury.

Moses was forced from the field in the dying stages of the Origin decider on Wednesday night after scoring the decisive solo try by skipping through the Queensland defence.

He later told Fox Sports News he won't be back for the Eels this season in a major blow for the struggling Parramatta.

"The bicep's gone, so I'll need surgery on that," he said.

"I'll be gone (for the season)."

Moses was an integral force for the Blues in their Origin victory, recording 447 kick metres and a game-sealing try.

In the 76th minute, the No.7 made a slow return to his feet after attempting to make a tackle on Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

Tabuai-Fidow gathered an intercept sent for Stephen Crichton before powering down the field to face Moses.

The Maroons centre toppled over the NSW halfback leaving him down in the grass before he was taken down by Liam Martin.

Despite making an immediate return to the line, the Parramatta star was seen calling out to Blues medical staff and pointing at his bicep. He was taken off seconds later.

"He must be in all sorts. I think he's torn his bicep or hyperextended his elbow?" Mat Thompson said on Nine.

Nine's Danika Mason confirmed a torn biceps as the initial diagnosis, with Moses waiting on the sideline for the clock to count down.

"He was unable to use his arm for the last minute on the field," Mason said.

"He was telling his teammates he was not able to participate in anything. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. You can see the pain on his face."

The siren sounded soon after and the State of Origin shield was lifted by the NSW Blues.

Speaking with Andrew Johns after the match, Moses declared his "bicep is gone."

It could potentially mean a premature end to his season with the Eels, who are sitting 16th on the premiership ladder.

The side has recorded four wins this season, three of those with Moses in the team.

Parramatta has a bye in round 20 before they face the Melbourne Storm next week.

"I do like Mitch and his personality, it suits the arena," coach Michael Maguire said after the match.

"You've got to have a lot of confidence about your own game and I think that's what he brought to the game.

"I spoke to Mitch a fair bit before the series even began and you get to know all the players.... It was really nice to see him break the game open there - he was patient, the game was a dogfight and there was gonna be a moment to open the game up and Mitch found that."
