Dragons young gun Yaw Kiti Glymin showed brilliant hands to light up the NRL Auckland Nines and set up a stunning try for teammate Kalifa Faifai Loa.

Playing against the Raiders in St George Illawarra's opening pool game the 22-year-old delivered a moment for the highlights reel when he latched onto a Mitch Rein cross-field kick in the sixth minute.

Outleaping a Raiders defender, Kiti Glymin managed to grab the ball and then threw a perfectly place flick pass to Faifai Loa to score as he fell in a tackle toward the sideline.

The try opened the scoring for the Dragons but despite Kiti Glymin's brilliant athleticism it wasn't enough to inspire victory with Canberra winning the match 28-20.

Meanwhile, in other first round matches, NRL premiers North Queensland kick-started 2016 with a 28-12 win over Newcastle, the Warriors beat the Bulldogs, Souths edged out the Roosters, Manly pipped Brisbane and Melbourne outclassed Parramatta.
