Souths earn preliminary-final berth after Manly thriller
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have set up a preliminary final clash against the Canberra Raiders after edging out the Manly Sea Eagles 34-26 in an future classic at ANZ Stadium.
In what will surely prove to be one of the games of the season, Wayne Bennett's men did enough to outlast Des Hasler's magic, but a contentious late sin-bin of Jake Trobjevic will no doubt throw question marks over the result.
Trbojevic was given his marching orders in 67th minute for appearing to tug at the shirt of Rabbitoh Dane Gagai off the ball in a try scoring opportunity.
While the force of the tug was arguable, it was enough for officials to send the Manly favourite, with the visitors forced to defend their slender lead with 12-men.
The cracks soon appeared as John Sutton and Cam Murray found themselves over consecutively, all but ending the Sea Eagles' commendable season with minutes on the clock.
MORE TO COME.

Manly's lack of communication
Manly couldn't afford a mistake and they came up with one off the kick. No communication between the winger and fullback as they make a meal of the catch.
Cam Murray scores off the back of it and puts the Bunnies back in the lead.
Doueihi has passed his HIA, Johnston failed.
Sutton left-foot steps across
In his final season, John Sutton has been stepping off his left foot in the NRL for 16-years. And it may have just prolonged his career as he scores his second of the night and draws South Sydney level!
Daly has kept his team behind the try line for 20 seconds after the kick.
Trbojevic in the bin
Jake Trbojevic will go to the bin for pulling Dane Gagai off the ball in a scoring opportunity. I disagree with that decision.
Cook silenced
Manly have restricted the effectiveness of the Souths' forwards, as a result Damien Cook has been very quiet.
It's all Manly!
Even with 12-mean it's all Manly, Tafua has just folded Ethan Lowe for the second time!
Parker returns to the field and it's 13 plays 13.
JORGE STRIKES AGAIN!
Jorge strikes again! WOW, Great tackle!
Manly turn their fortunes round
Great effort by Manly to score while down to 12-men. Compounding the try Alex Johnston has gone off with a severe cut to his head and concussion. I'd be surprised if he came back!
Manly back in the lead by six.
