Sandow kicks amazing field goal winner

Former NRL star Chris Sandow has kicked one of the best field goals ever, potting the ball between the posts for a 42m match winner during an English Super League match.  

With the scores locked at 30-all and just second remaining on the clock, the Warrington playmaker was thrown the ball for one last shot at stealing the match.

And despite driving rain and a soggy field, the former Souths and Parramatta star managed to scramble free from a Salford defender and steer his field goal straight between the posts from 42m out as the siren sounded.

The miraculous kick came after the enigmatic Sandow had earlier missed a potential match-winning penalty shot against the Red Devils.

Fittingly, the 27-year-old was mobbed by his Wolves teammates with the kick hailed by commentators, who declared Salford "must feel like Fagan has moved in and picked their pockets".  

The 31-30 win put Warrington on top of the table.
