NSW fullback Dugan has indicated his preference for a move to the frontline next NRL season and the acquisition of Quinlan strengthens the Dragons depth in the custodian role.

"Adam was keen to return to Australia and took the opportunity to re-sign with the club at a time when we were looking for further depth at the back," Dragons football manager Ben Haran said.

"He is a well-liked player who will fit in well with the culture here at the Dragons and we look forward to seeing him on the field soon."

Quinlan has played 25 games for St George Illawarra in seasons 2013 and 2014. On several of those occasions Dugan was playing at centre while Quinlan filled the Dragons No.1 jersey.

Quinlan has spent the last year playing for St Helens in Super League.
