Panthers' long range assault leads to win, but was Waqa Blake out?

After falling down 14-0 early to their bitter rivals, the Penrith Panthers reeled off 22 consecutive points to come away round one winners, but the Paramatta Eels could be forgiven for feeling a little aggrieved following a Panthers' try in the second half. 

The Panthers were up 16-14, when a careening Nathan Cleary run through the Eels' defence ended in a Waqa Blake try, Blake's second for the afternoon. 

However, shortly after Blake's try, fans on Twitter were up in arms about the legality of the try as Blake's foot appeared to touch the sideline as he placed the ball in goal, furious at the missed call.

Neither of the referees or the linesman saw it fit to question Blake's try, opting to award it on first sighting. 

But the pictures shown afterwards indicate that it may have been best sent to the Bunker to take a second look at. 

It was Blake's second for the afternoon, after an amazing solo effort in the first half, as the Panthers ran over the Eels in the second half for a well-deserved victory.
