Ugly hip drop charge ends Raiders enforcer Kerehitina Matua's season

Canberra Raiders enforcer Kerehitina Matua's season has ended after being whacked with a two-game suspension for a hip drop tackle on Madison Mulhall.
Matua was hit with a grade three dangerous contact charge over the incident which Mulhall remarkably brushed off.
"That was very bad," Ruan Sims said in commentary on Nine.

"That right leg twisted and got caught under the body. I think Matua will be in trouble."

The incident which saw Matua sin-binned will be her last feature of the season as the 38-34 victory sees the Raiders move to eighth place on the NRLW ladder.
If the 25-year-old elects to fight the charge, the Raider will risk serving a three-match ban.
Dragons coach Jaime Soward declared the tackle as "the worst hip drop tackle" the competition had seen.

But Soward's concerns did not end there as Steph Hancock was forced from the field after a brutal tackle on Emma Barnes.
Barnes escaped with a warning for the tackle that saw Hancock suffer an ankle injury, which the Dragons believe will see the veteran prop's season over.

Jamilee Bright is in doubt after receiving medical attention for a foot complaint.
Star centre Bobbi Law also joins the club's injury ward after she was left motionless on the turf with suspected broken ribs.
"I think when a player is lying motionless in the play of the ball and the referee says play on, I need an explanation for that," Soward said in his post-match press conference.
"She's got to go to hospital now, but we conceded a try off that.
"It's not why we lost... but I need an explanation for that."
The season's end will mark the conclusion of club legend and coach Soward's contract.
