NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 24

There’s just three rounds remaining in the NRL competition and the Wide World of Sports tipping ladder is as congested as ever, with just five points covering first to last.

Freddy and Locky fared best in round 23, each with six winners, while Gus struggled with just four.

Those results mean Freddy has extended his lead back to three points, but Gus, Wally, Joey and Locky are all separated by just two points as they look to challenge Freddy at the top of the table.

Andrew Johns said it was a shame Titans fullback Jarryd Hayne would once again not be able to face his old team, Parramatta, and suggested the former Eels star has become a scapegoat for recent drama on the Gold Coast.

"I feel sorry for Jarryd a little bit," Johns said.

"I think like he might be the figurehead for a few problems up there. I understand a few players aren't happy and he's the target."

Hayne will miss the game against the Eels due to a niggling ankle injury.
