NRL tips Round 8: Joey, Freddy and the crew give their verdicts

Brad Fittler has put a question mark over Cronulla's rookie coach John Morris, tipping the Storm to win the Round 8 grudge match due to what he sees as a lack of hard edge in a man he describes as "too nice a guy".

The Sharks have had more success against the Storm than most teams over the past three seasons, with the credit for that often going to a game plan that focuses on getting under the skin of Melbourne's star players, with niggle and sledging often a key feature.

However, Fittler is unsure whether Morris has the personality to employ the same tactics that were successful for Shane Flanagan, arguing that it would only work if he lit a fire under his players before the game.

"I reckon it's a big test of the coach," Fittler told Wide World of Sports' Freddy & Joey's tips.

"When the Sharks win (against the Storm) they get under their skin, and the coach has to do that. He sets a cracker under them and they go out there and agitate the other team.

"It's a big ask for John Morris, he's a nice guy, he seems like too nice a guy to be able to set that into his players, so I'm (tipping) the Storm."
