NRL expert tips and predictions round four
NRL tipping – it’s already Round 4. Here at Wide World of Sports we’re sorting you out with our NRL tips and predictions, each and every week, brought to you straight from the mouth of our experts.
After a couple of impressive performances, Joey has come back to the field after only managing three last round (although he was happy to point out he did pick Manly to beat North Queensland in Townsville!). Sterlo has joined him at the top of the leaderboard but there’s only three tips separating first from last.
Round 4 promises to be another exciting round, with plenty of spice expected from the Thursday and Friday night games. Will the Sydney Roosters continue their impressive form against arch rivals South Sydney? And which Canberra team will turn up to face Brisbane with both clubs desperate for another win?
Joey thinks the suspensions handed out to Souths’ George Burgess, Hymel Hunt and rookie Braidon Burns by the match review committee will be hard to overcome against the Roosters at ANZ Stadium, live and free on Channel Nine on Thursday night.
“The Roosters are flying at the moment, and the Rabbitohs have got several players out with suspension,” Joey said.
“It will be a wet game but I think the Roosters will win. I think if it was a dry track, they’d thump the bunnies.”
Joey said five-eighth Kieran Foran and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck would make welcome returns to the Warriors for Sunday’s game against St George Illawarra at Jubilee Oval but there was far more pressure on Issac Luke, who has failed to deliver since shifting over from South Sydney in 2016.
“Big key for me is Issac Luke,” Joey said.
“He’s really been disappointing the last 18 months. He has to turn things around. Kieran and Roger are big ins, I’ll go the Warriors.”
As for relinquishing the weekly tipping trophy for the first time this season to Freddy, Joey quipped, “Enjoy that Freddy. I won’t tell you what I’ve done with this the last two weeks but maybe give it a bath."
