Eels forward Ryan Matterson's future in doubt amid fresh concussion concerns
Ryan Matterson's future appears to be in doubt after the Parramatta forward reportedly suffered another concussion during pre-season.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the 31-year-old will seek medical opinion after the latest setback in a career that has been riddled with head knocks.
Matterson was not named for the Eels trial game against the Roosters on Saturday and has been dealing with suspected concussion symptoms of late.

Parramatta have been attempting to offload the former NSW Blues back-rower since last season, with Matterson spending time on loan at Warrington.
Matterson has played 189 first grade games across stints with the Roosters, Wests Tigers and Eels, where he has played for the past six seasons.

He is signed until the end of 2026 with the blue and gold outfit.
It comes as Matterson has been caught up in the Zac Lomax contract saga between the Eels and Storm heading into their round one clash.
Matterson was dragged into the legal back-and-forth between the two clubs, with the Eels trying to garner compensation for Lomax's touted move to Melbourne.
At this stage, no deal has been brokered and Lomax remains in limbo.
