Dragons woes continue as winger David Fale facing ban for kicking Murray Taulagi

St George Illawarra's season continues to go from bad to worse, with winger David Fale facing suspension for kicking Murray Taulagi.

Fale was placed on report during the Dragons' dismal 32-0 loss at Kogarah Oval on Saturday night and has since been charged by the match review committee.

The 25-year-old leaped to catch a high ball and stuck his boot out, collecting Taulagi in the neck before the Cowboys winger stayed down momentarily.

He has been hit with a grade two dangerous contact charge and will miss one game with an early guilty plea and two games if he fights it and loses.

"That's gotta be accidental ... I don't think it's deliberate," Steve Roach said on Fox League after the incident.

Lead caller Jake Duke described it as the "Billy Slater rule" and pointed to the Storm legend's history of similar incidents that landed him in hot water during his career.

Stemming from the same clash, front-rower Hame Sele has been fined $1500 for a crusher tackle on Taulagi.

Fale's suspension continues a horror start to the year for the joint venture, who remain winless after five games as pressure mounts on coach Shane Flanagan.

Fullback and co-captain Clint Gutherson is also under an injury cloud after leaving the field late in the second half with a hamstring injury.

It comes as the Dragons have been linked with Dolphins speedster Trai Fuller.
